Manna Expands Housing Stability Efforts with New Program
In alignment with Manna’s mission to provide, in the spirit of faith and love, nourishing meals and supportive services in an atmosphere of acceptance and caring for those in need, Manna is proud to announce the expansion of its efforts to address housing insecurity in La Plata County through a new initiative focused on transitional support and stable housing that is safe, affordable, and accessible for those who may otherwise have barriers to housing stability.
This development was made possible through the generous donation of a residential property, which will continue to serve individuals in need just as it has over the last 25 years. Manna is honored to carry forward this legacy with care and integrity.
The property includes four individual units, all offered at rents below local market value. By operating the property as low-income housing, tenants pay no more than 30% of their gross monthly income in rent, and all residents fall below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for La Plata County.
Originally built in the late 1800s, the Manna Resilience House has served our community for generations and now requires ongoing repairs and thoughtful restoration to preserve its future. Thanks to the incredible generosity of community members, local businesses, and dedicated supporters, we've already completed several major improvements, including replacing the driveway and walkways, removing hazardous trees to improve safety and accessibility, performing critical roof repairs, and installing a radon mitigation system to create a healthier living environment.
Today, the Manna Resilience House provides affordable housing for four community members who are seniors and/or living with disabilities. In 2026, we've focused on the next phase of this important work with extensive apartment renovations. We're excited to share that the first apartment renovation is now complete, and work is already underway on the second apartment, helping ensure this historic home continues to provide safe, dignified, and affordable housing for years to come.

In 2026, we've focused on significant renovations to ensure the home remains safe, accessible, and welcoming. We're proud to share that the first apartment renovation is now complete, and work is already underway on the second apartment. Manna also welcomes local businesses willing to donate building materials, skilled labor, or services to help complete these vital improvements.
We are especially grateful to the Michael & Elaine Moravan Foundation for believing in this vision. A portion of their generous $50,000 matching gift is helping fund these renovations while inspiring others to invest in the future of affordable housing in Southwest Colorado.
