About Manna’s Garden
Manna is one of the few soup kitchens in the United States that has an onsite garden. The purpose of the Manna Garden is multidimensional and it serves a number of different groups within our community. Primarily, the garden helps Manna be more self-sustaining and provides educational and nutritional benefits to the community. Produce harvested from our garden is distributed to our clients through the Manna Food Market and in prepared foods for our take-out meals. The garden also supplies instructional produce for Manna’s Culinary Program. The garden provides an excellent demonstration site for small plot biointensive growing methods. It's a place where community members gather to learn, volunteer, and spend time together.
In the 2025 growing season, we harvested over 2,147 pounds of fresh produce!

Volunteering for the Manna Garden
Thank you to everyone who made it such a bountiful 2025 year!
The Manna Garden flourished this last year, thanks to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our incredible volunteers and community partners. Together, we nurtured a space that not only grows food but also cultivates connection, learning, and hope. Our volunteers showed up week after week with enthusiasm and care, helping the garden thrive and ensuring fresh, healthy produce reached those who need it most. We were also thrilled by the success of our Garden Plant Sale earlier this summer, which brought the community together in support of sustainable growing and local food access. The Manna Garden remains a vibrant symbol of what can bloom when people come together for a shared purpose.
