SNAP Assistance and Outreach

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal program that provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families and individuals so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency. Manna is an official SNAP outreach partner, meaning we can help people in our county submit their applications for the program. We are also here to help answer questions, dispel misconceptions, decrease stigma, and make help make the process feel more approachable. In addition to submitting initial applications, we can help with six month redeterminations and case updates.

SNAP Office Hours at FLC

Did you know 44% of Fort Lewis College students have experienced food insecurity in the last 30 days? That's 10% higher than the national average. We believe that being enrolled in college shouldn't equate to low nutrient diets or skipping meals. In fact, students experiencing food insecurity often see grades fall, health deterioration, and higher rates of depression. Starting in Spring 2020, Manna started working to make sure our local students receive nutritious, consistent meals by offering SNAP assistance on the Fort Lewis College campus.

We will add more information on this program when it begins again. If you are a college student looking to enroll in SNAP, please contact Marissa Hunt at

Double Up Food Bucks

Double Up Food Bucks is a state funded program that makes it easy to eat healthy and local. Families and individuals who are enrolled in SNAP can use their funds at certain places to receive free fruits and vegetables from Colorado growers. For instance, if you spend 20 SNAP dollars at the local farmers market to purchase meats, breads, cheese, etc, you will receive an additional 20 dollars to spend specifically on locally grown produce! Not only is this program great for those enrolled in SNAP, but also our local farmers.
