Marissa Hunt grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended the University of North Texas in Denton, where she earned a degree in Strategic Communications. With an interest in working in the nonprofit sector and a love for the outdoors, she moved to Durango in 2017 to serve an AmeriCorps term with The Garden Project of Southwest Colorado. After falling for the wonders of the Southwest and her Colorado community, she is grateful that her journey led her to Manna.
Marissa’s professional background has included varied work in the nonprofit sector, with focuses in communications, food security, education, environmentalism, and beyond. Her work at Manna includes managing the nonprofit’s Resource Center, including SNAP outreach, street outreach, WAGEES, and Rapid Rehousing.
Ultimately, she is passionate about serving her community and is happy to be planting her roots in Durango. In her free time, Marissa is an artist, musician, and avid outdoors-woman who has her dogs, Rigby and Disco, in tow with her as often as possible.
