Monetary Donations

With hunger on the increase, donations are needed now more than ever. The United States Department of Agriculture, using the euphemism "food security," instead of the word "hunger," reported that in 2006, 11% of US households suffered from "low food security," and that another 4% of US households suffered from "very low food security." In plain language, this means that about 15% of our population suffered from hunger. This, in a nation with a per capita income of over $25,000 per year, is unacceptable. In our continuing effort to deal this rising problem in our small part of Colorado, Manna Soup Kitchen served over 36,000 meals last year incurring costs of $6.47 per meal served. With utilities prices rising, among other things, our costs continue to escalate. This is why we need your help, now more than ever. The following is a concrete way to see how your donations help feed the hungry in our community:

4 meals=$25.00
8 meals=$50.00
16 meals=$100.00
80 meals=$500.00
1 year of meals=$2,500.00

Manna accepts checks and money orders. Please mail your donation to the address at the bottom of the page. You will soon be able to use your credit card on our website.

Planned Giving

Many of you make donations throughout the year to Manna Soup Kitchen. While all donations are certainly welcome and appreciated, we at Manna Soup Kitchen would like you to consider giving in a different way, at a more substantial level.

Planned giving allows you to use other resources that maybe you had not considered; e.g. your life insurance, surplus real estate, stocks and securities or other investments that may incur substantial taxes should you liquidate.

Through the auspices of the Community Foundation, where Manna currently has two funds to support future needs, you may arrange to leave a "legacy" to Manna Soup Kitchen.
